HOW IT BEGAN
I began making pieces that could be loved by adults and children because I could never fine unique gifts for babies, children or those expecting. This inspired me to begin making a series for them. I think of them as something packed with a lot of meaning but does not get stale once you pass the baby stages.

  ABOUT THE ARTIST
The overlapping textures of the city continue to inspire and can be seen throughout my work. Growing up in New Orleans, I became accustom to the sights and sounds of the city but as I grew older, I began notice the nuances it has. There is something about here that embraces and holds on to the old while reveling in the new. This creates the layers or textures within our lives we often take for granted. My pieces draw upon that layering. The words, the sounds, and the thoughts surface in the pieces through repetition of form, text, numbers, letters and symbols. Because of this, I love textures and layers you explore over time. I believe that that is how something that can seem so simple at first glance can continue to catch our attention as we pass them. Since I am an assemblage artist as well, I find myself altering, rearranging, reordering and reinterpreting images to tell a story or convey an idea. From here I dissect parts and create the form. All items in this shop are made and designed by me. I am a New Orleans Artist. I have a B.A. (studio) with a focus on sculpture and printmaking. All Pieces Are Signed. ~Raegan Robinson
